RedHawks Fall to Kansas City 3-2

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks saw their eight-game home winning streak end as they fell to the Kansas City T-Bones 3-2 on Tuesday night before 3,876 fans at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo. Kansas City improved to 48-51 on the season, while the RedHawks fell to 43-56.

The RedHawks opened the scoring in the bottom of the fourth inning when Jesse Hoorelbeke, who led off the inning with a double, scored on Mike Coles' RBI fielder's choice.

Kansas City answered back in the top of the fifth inning and plated three runs to take a 3-1 lead. Keanon Simon ripped an RBI double, Justin Snyder had an RBI ground out and Ray Sadler notched an RBI single for the T-Bones. Fargo-Moorhead got one back in the bottom of the sixth inning on Todd Jennings' RBI single that scored Carlo Cota to make the score 3-2, but they would get no closer.

T-Bones starter Kris Johnson (6-3) picked up the victory, going 7.0 inning and allowing two runs on seven hits. He struck out three batters and walked three. Kyle Dahman worked a perfect ninth inning to pick up his ninth save of the season. RedHawks starter Dan Blewett (2-5) took the loss. He allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits in 5.0 innings pitched.

The two clubs will close out the 2011 regular season on Tuesday night at 7:02 p.m. at Newman Outdoor Field. Jack Frawley (4-8) will get the start for the RedHawks, while T.J. Large (5-7) will counter for Kansas City.
