Abercrombie, Jennings Win Weekly Awards

August 29, 2011 - American Association (AA) News Release

DURHAM, NC -- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has named Sioux Falls Pheasants OF Reggie Abercrombie and Grand Prairie AirHogs RHP Jason Jennings as the Pointstreak Batter and Pitcher of the Week.

In six games, Abercrombie batted .464 (13-for-28) with five doubles, three home runs and 10 RBI. He also stole four bases and scored six runs. Abercrombie collected two consecutive four-hit games against Winnipeg Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, Abercrombie's second home run of the night lifted the Pheasants to a 13-12 walk-off win. Currently, the Midland, GA resident is batting .306 with 17 home runs and 65 RBI.

Jennings pitched his first complete game of the year, shutting out the Shreveport-Bossier Captains on just three hits and three walks, while striking out eight batters as the AirHogs won 4-0 Friday. He allowed two runners to reach base in an inning only once to improve to 10-2 on the season, lowering his ERA to 3.59 in the process.
