RedHawks, Devon Energy Present Hometown Heroes Celebration Night

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City RedHawks and Devon Energy have teamed up for the second Devon Energy Hometown Heroes Celebration Night of the season to recognize local service men and women and their families Saturday, July 27 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The RedHawks play the Iowa Cubs starting at 7:05 p.m. Fans can enjoy demonstrations from different military branches, tours of military vehicles, military challenges, and recruiting information in front of Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark beginning at 5:30 p.m..

On-field events throughout the evening include a pre-game flag release, a swearing-in ceremony of new Air Force recruits, a Marine challenge, military branch recognition, the singing of "God Bless America" and a welcome home ceremony of deployed Airmen from Tinker Air Force Base.

Col. Russell A. Muncy, Commander of the 507th Air Refueling Wing at Tinker Air Force Base, will help welcome home service men and women returning from deployment. Alan Marcum, Executive Vice President of Administration at Devon Energy, will also take part in the evening's events.

"Military members and their families are uniquely connected to the Oklahoma City community," RedHawks President Michael Byrnes said. "We are honored to partner with Devon Energy to have this night dedicated to celebrating our service men and women along with the families who support them."
