Rochester Red Wings News Release

GAME NOTES:

- THE LEAD: The Wings got another outstanding performance from Kyle Gibson (7.0 ip, 5h, r, 0 er, bb, 6 k) as he won his 5th straight decision sending Rochester to a 5-2 win in the finale of their two-game series against the Scranton/WB RailRiders... Gibson is now 5-0 with a 2.20 ERA (12 ER/49.0 IP) over his last seven starts with six "quality starts"... Gibby is now 3-0 in June with a 2.08 ERA in four starts...

- The Wings split the two-game series with Scranton/WB and have now won seven of nine games and 13 of 19 overall... With Lehigh Valley and Paw- tucket both winning on Thursday, the Wings remain 3.0 GB of the IronPigs in the Wild Card and 8.5 GB of the Paw Sox in the IL North... The Wings are now 5-6 against the RailRiders this season, 2-4 at Frontier Field.

- Chris Colabello hit his 15th homer of the year (a two-run shot in the 5th inning) as part of a 3-for-5 night at the plate... His 15 homers and 55 RBI both rank T-3rd in the IL... Colabello, who went 0-for-4 last night, has only gone back-to-back games without a hit once in 61 games with the Red Wings... He continues to pace the IL in average (.363), SLG (.645) and OPS (1.073)... In 11 games since his return to Rochester, Colabello is hitting .409 (18-for-44) with three homers and 14 RBI... Through three weeks of fan voting, Colabello still remains the top vote-getter among all IL position players.

- Chris Herrmann extended his hit streak to a career-high 11 games with a single in the first inning... He finished 2-for-4 with a run and a walk and over his streak is now hitting .384 (15-for-39)... The 11-gamer is the second longest by a Red Wings player this season behind Chris Colabello's 16-game streak 5/9-6/5... Both Herrmann and Colabello made trips to the Major Leagues in the middle of their hit streaks.

- Michael Tonkin worked around a leadoff walk to record his 4th Triple-A save in four chances with the Wings... He has yet to allow an earned run in his first 10.0 innings (9 appearances) at the Triple-A level... Blake Martin allowed his first career Triple-A run on a Randy Ruiz solo homer in the eighth inning... Martin allowed two hits Thursday after allowing just one hit over his first 7.0 innings with Rochester.

- Next, the Wings will hit the road for a 10-game trip beginning in Louisville on Friday night. The trip also includes four games in Indianapolis and two games in Syracuse... It is the longest scheduled road trip for the Wings since a 10-game, 11-day trip from May 20-30, 2006 and first 10-game trip with no off day since June 3-12, 2004... Later this season, the Wings will embark on an 11-game, 12-day trip from 8/5-8/16.

Attendance: 5,450
