Gwinnett Stripers News Release
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - The Gwinnett Braves return to Coolray Field for an eight-game homestand from Friday, June 21 through Friday, June 28. The G-Braves will host the Syracuse Chiefs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, from June 21-23 and the Buffalo Bisons, the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, form June 25-28. Numerous promotions and giveaways highlight the homestand.
The four-game series with the Chiefs gets underway on Friday at 7:05 PM with "80's Night," sponsored by Gwinnett Medical Center. Go back in time and wear your favorite 80's ensemble to the ballpark, plus enjoy all the 80's hits you remember all night long. The G-Braves will wear special powder blue throwback jerseys, and each game-worn jersey will be available for auction during the game! Proceeds from the jersey auction will go to the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation.
Bring your running shoes to Coolray Field on Saturday morning for the "Tripp's Trot" 5K Race, starting at 8:00 AM. Proceeds from the race will benefit Tripp Halstead, the Barrow County child who suffered a brain injury when he was struck by a tree limb during Hurricane Sandy last October. Those interested in registering for the 5K can do so by visiting trippstrot.com. The benefit continues Saturday night at 7:05 PM for "Tripp Halstead Night." To purchase tickets for the fundraiser, visit gwinnettbraves.com/tripp and enter the special promo code TEAMBOOM. A special pre-game parade for all 5K participants will be held, as well as a live acoustic performance from country singer/songwriter Jordan Covington.
Also on Saturday night, the first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive a Jason Heyward Bobblehead, courtesy of Georgia Power.
The finale against the Chiefs will be jam-packed with fun as the G-Braves take on the Chiefs in a doubleheader starting at 2:05 PM.
