Rebels Win 4-1 over the Ice

CRANBROOK, BC - The Red Deer Rebels got two goals from Cory Millette to pace them to a 4-1 win in Cranbrook, B.C. against the Kootenay Ice. That ended the Ice's five-game winning streak.

Millette got his first of the night in the opening period. It was 1-0 for the Rebels after 20 minutes.

The teams traded goals in the second period. Jaedon Descheneau scored for the Ice, and Cory Millette made it 2-1 for the Rebels after two periods.

In the third period, Brooks Maxwell scored at 17:39 to give Red Deer a 3-1 lead. Rhyse Dieno scored an empty net goal at 18:43 to close out the scoring.

Patrik Bartosak made 22 saves in the Rebels net, as the Rebels picked up their 35th win of the season. The final shots were 23-23. Red Deer was 0 for 2 on the power play and killed both shorthanded situations. The Rebels are now 4-2-1-0 against the Ice this season.

The Rebels are at home Saturday as they host the Swift Current Broncos 7:30PM at the ENMAX Centrium, tickets available at Ticketmaster.
