Bartosak Makes 52 Saves; Rebels Win 3-0 Over Broncos

RED DEER, AB - The Rebels led their season series versus the Broncos two games to one coming into this tilt. Both teams also won road games one night earlier, the Rebels 4-1 in Cranbrook, the Broncos 3-1 in Calgary.



FIRST PERIOD

No Scoring. Broncos outshot the Rebels 16-12 while both teams went 0/1 on the powerplay.




SECOND PERIOD

The Rebels opened the scoring in this game while on a powerplay. Broncos goalie Eetu Laurikainen stopped a shot from Tyson Ness but couldn't corral the rebound. Turner Elson found the puck and found the back of the net for his 22nd goal of the season. Haydn Fleury also assisted on the goal. 1-0 Rebels 8:08 into the second period.



Elson potted his second goal of the period a few minutes later when he beat Laurikainen with a backhander from a sharp angle. Brooks Maxwell and Mathew Dumba with the helpers. 2-0 Rebels at the 14:08 mark.

THIRD PERIOD



Matt Bellerive game the home side a 3-0 lead when he beat Laurikained with a scorching wrist shot that went in off the crossbar. The unassisted goal came 2:32 into the third period.



Patrik Bartosak took it from there. He repeatedly stood tall for the Rebels in keeping the Broncos corralled. Patrik made 52 saves on the night, 24 in the third period alone, for his fourth shutout of the season. Rebels blank the Broncos 3-0.
