Real Salt Lake News Release
SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake returns to action to face Western Conference rival LA Galaxy on Sunday, April 28 at 6:00p MT. The meeting between the sides will be the 39th regular season meeting between the two clubs.
RSL travels to Los Angeles carrying two consecutive victories over Orlando City and FC Cincinnati over the previous two weeks, claiming 2-1 and 3-0 wins respectively. In its last outing, RSL topped Cincinnati courtesy of a brace from MF Albert Rusnák and a first half strike from FW Sam Johnson who scored his second in as many matches. The Utah side also saw a standout performance from its backline and the season's first start for GK Andrew Putna who earned his first shutout of the year - the team's second.
The match against the Galaxy will be the first meeting between the two clubs since RSL's record-breaking 6-2 victory over the California side last September. In that match, MF Damir Kreilach led RSL with a hattrick while Rusnák notched a brace and MF Jefferson Savarino added another goal in the rout at Rio Tinto Stadium. RSL carries a 7-11-2 (23 points) all-time away record into Dignity Health Sports Park.
