A first-half Connor Lade tally led the New York Red Bulls (2-4-2, 5 pts) past FC Cincinnati (2-5-2, 8 pts), 1-0, on Saturday night at Red Bull Arena. New York recorded their 100th league win at Red Bull Arena since the building opened in 2010.
The Red Bulls snapped their five-match winless streak (0-4-1) and earned their first league clean sheet of 2019.
On the counter attack, Brian White found Daniel Royer a top of the 18-yard box. Royer flicked the pass towards the left of the box for Lade, who launched his shot past Przemyslaw Tyton and under the crossbar for the eventual game winner in the 38th minute.
Lade, in his 120th league game, scored his second career goal and first since July 13, 2016.
Captain and goalkeeper Luis Robles needed just one save to record his first league shutout of 2019 and his 64th career MLS clean sheet. Robles moved into a tie with Pat Onstad for eighth all-time in league history with 64.
White tallied his first career league assist, while Royer recorded his seventh career MLS assist.
Aaron Long played his 100th career match across all competitions.
Head coach Chris Armas moved to 14-7-5 overall in MLS regular-season matches and 10-3-0 in league home games. Armas moved into a tie with Alfonso Mondelo for sixth all-time in franchise wins with 14.
New York is 43-37-21 all-time in the month of April. New York has scored 139 goals in March and allowed 122.
