Reading scored eight times after the sixth inning on their way to an 8-2 victory over the Thunder on Tuesday night at ARM & HAMMER Park. With the defeat, the Thunder dropped their fourth straight game and remain in second place of the Eastern League's East Division.

The Thunder grabbed the game's first run in the bottom of the fifth when Eric Jagielo tripled into the right field corner and scored on Dan Fiorito's sacrifice fly to center field. The game stayed 1-0 through six thanks to great pitching from both starters, LHP Caleb Smith for the Thunder and LHP Jesse Biddle for the Fightin' Phils.

Reading broke through for six runs in the top of the seventh, four off Smith and two off reliever Conor Mullee. Rene Garcia grabbed a 2-1 lead for the visitors with an RBI single and later J.P. Crawford pushed two more across with a run-scoring double to left-center.

Smith, who went 6.1 innings, took his fourth loss of the season despite allowing just three baserunners in his first six frames on the mound.

Greg Bird recorded the only multi-hit game for the Thunder on Tuesday night with seventh inning double and an eighth inning single. Bird has now reached base safely in 31-of-34 games played this season. Aaron Judge drove in his team-leading 38th run of the year with a groundout in the seventh inning.

Reading starter Jesse Biddle recorded his longest start of the season, spinning 7.2 innings. The Philadelphia-area product allowed two runs on eight hits, one walk and struck out four.

Your Thunder will continue their three-game homestand with the Fightin' Phils on Wednesday night at 7:00pm. The Thunder will send RHP Kyle Haynes (1-3, 1.59), the Fightin' Phils will send RHP Zach Eflin (4-4, 3.12). The first 1,000 fans, age 18 and up, will receive Reversible Bucket Hats, presented by Capital Health. Tickets can be ordered online at Trentonthunder.com/tickets or by phone at 609-394-3300.
