Rays Welcome Stanley Cup, Host Fan Fest on Opening Night
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays will open their 26th season of hockey in the Lowcountry on October 20 with a day of special events, highlighted by a visit from the greatest trophy in sports, the Stanley Cup®.
Stingrays Opening Night: Capitals Championship Celebration presented by STASH Storage, will begin with a special opportunity for all full and 24-game Season Ticket Holders to get a picture taken with the Stanley Cup® inside the Charleston Area Convention Center. While the team cannot guarantee photos to anyone, they will offer season plan holders the opportunity to take a photo early, from 2-4 p.m. All full and 24-game Season Ticket Holders must show a valid Oct. 20 season ticket to enter during the designated time slot.
In addition, North Charleston Coliseum doors will open at 5:30 p.m. to allow additional time for fans to get a photo with the trophy, which will be stationed behind section 134. All fans must have a ticket to that evening's Oct. 20 South Carolina vs. Greenville game in order to take a picture with the Stanley Cup®.
At 3 p.m., the Rays will begin a four-hour Fan Fest celebration outside the arena's south entrance. The Fan Fest will include live music from DJ R Dot and other special events. The North Charleston Coliseum will also have beer available for purchase.
As Stingrays players arrive for the contest around 4:30 p.m., they will be ushered into the building with a Red Carpet Arrival. Players will be introduced, and fans will have the opportunity to get autographs and pictures with their favorite Stingrays as they walk the red carpet.
