Rattlers Follow No-Hitter by Topping Bees

Burlington, IA (August 25, 2010) - One night after twirling a no-hitter in Cedar Rapids, Wisconsin made it three wins in a row with a 7-4 win at Community Field on Wednesday night.

Adrian Rosario close out the gem on Tuesday with a hitless ninth inning, and bounced back to toss a hitless inning and a third to close out the game against the Bees on Wednesday. He and fellow reliever Matt Costello held the Bees at bay after the home club clawed their way to within three in the sixth.

Back-to-back doubles from Jake Kuebler and Ben Theriot brought home a pair to make it 7-4 in the sixth. For Theriot, it was his fourth two-bagger in two days after ripping three on Tuesday. Alex McClure had a single in the inning as well to pave the way for the scoring.

The Bees needed the runs to pull back within three after Wisconsin scored a pair of their own in the top half of the frame to push their lead to five for the second time. They led 5-0 in the top of the third after capitalizing on the ineffectiveness of Tyler Sample (L, 5-9), who allowed four hits and walked six in three innings on the hill.

For a second straight night, Theriot led the offense with two hits, a walk, and a pair of RBI. Starling De La Rosa pitched three scoreless innings of relief to help keep the deficit manageable.

The Bees continue the series against Wisconsin on Thursday night, where we will celebrate the final Thirsty Thursday of the year. The Mark Warth Agency brings you drink specials on beer and Pepsi products from the time the gates open at 5:30. First pitch is at 6:30.
