
Rascals Sweep Rippers with 5-4 Win

London Rippers News Release
FALLON, MISSOURI
- Another lead snuck away from the Rippers (1-5) and the River
City Rascals (5-1) took advantage, taking the series finale 5-4.
London exploded for four runs in the 1st inning, on five hits
- four singles
- and an
error.
But, Rascals starter, Jeremy Edwards (1-1) settled down in a big way, allowing only
one hit in the next 5.1 innings, striking out 9.
Sheng-An Kuo (0-2) started for the Rippers and rolled through the first two innings
before being burned for three runs in the 3rd and two runs in the 4th .
Matt Schimpf relieved Kuo with two outs in the 4th and got a ground out to end the
inning. He went on to go 2.1 innings and allowed only one hit, striking out one.
Matt Brennan continued the strong performance by the bullpen, throwing two scoreless
innings, allowing just two hits and striking out three.
On the bright side, Joash Brodin continued his to dominance of the Rascals, the team
he played for in 2011. He went 7 for 12 in the series, with a 3-run homer and 6 RBIs,
while scoring 4 runs.
The London Rippers will play their first home game in franchise history tomorrow night
at Labatt Park. Gametime against the Gateway Grizzlies (2-4) is 7:05pm.

The box office at Labatt Park will be open at 1pm tomorrow, allowing fans to buy tickets
for the opening weekend. Gates will open at 5pm.
