Evansville Otters News Release
O'Fallon, MO - Dustin Renfrow's first pitch Tuesday night would a sign of things to come, as Scott Houin hit the first of four solo home runs in the River City Rascals 5-1 victory over the Otters at T.R. Hughes Ballpark.
Chad Maddox and Ernie Banks added back-to-back shots in the third inning. Those three home runs all left over the right-centerfield fence, which stands only 325 feet from home plate.
Chris Colton hit the fourth and final home run in the eighth inning, a no-doubter out to left-center.
The Otters lone run came in the sixth inning. Cameron Satterwhite singled leading off and advanced into scoring position on Matt Schneider's single. Eric Blackwell then drove Satterwhite in with a single to left-centerfield.
The Otters had plenty of chances in the game, but left fifteen runners on, nine in scoring position.
Renfrow (5-9) lasted seven innings, giving up five runs (all earned) on thirteen hits. Rascal's starter Quinn Monsma (1-1) gave up one earned run on six hits in six innings.
The loss was the tenth in a row for Evansville, extending a season-high streak.
The Otters (28-63) will look to rebound Wednesday night at 7:05 pm CDT.
