Raptors 905 Acquire Rights to Canadian Centre Sim Bhullar

Raptors 905, the NBA Development League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, announced Friday they have acquired the returning player rights to Canadian centre Sim Bhullar from the Reno Bighorns in exchange for the returning player rights to guard Ricky Ledo.

Bhullar, 22, split the 2014-15 season between the Sacramento Kings and Bighorns. In three games with Sacramento, the Brampton, Ontario native became the first person of Indian descent to play in the NBA and recorded two points, one rebound, one assist and one block in three minutes of action. In 39 games with Reno, the 7-5, 355-pound centre averaged 25.8 minutes, 10.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.9 blocks. Before turning pro last season, Bhullar played two years (2012-14) at New Mexico State. In 65 career games with the Aggies, he averaged 25.3 minutes, 10.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.9 blocks.

Ledo was originally acquired by Raptors 905 in the NBA D-League expansion draft August 20. The Providence College alumnus split last season among the Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks and the NBA D-League's Texas Legends.

Raptors 905 also announced Friday they have received the Bakersfield Jam's own original 2016 third-round pick in the NBA D-League Draft in exchange for the returning player rights to forward Earl Clark, who was originally acquired by Raptors 905 in this summer's expansion draft.

Raptors 905 training camp begins on Monday, November 2 in Mississauga. Media day is set for Wednesday, November 4 at Hershey Centre. Raptors 905 begin their 2015 preseason schedule on Thursday, November 5, when they'll visit the Windsor Express (National Basketball League of Canada) at WFCU Centre in Windsor, Ontario at 7:30 p.m. Their first home preseason contest is scheduled for Sunday, November 8 when they'll host the Erie BayHawks at Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario at 2 p.m.
