MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT-Feb. 26: The Rampage will host their 8th annual Military Appreciation Night this Saturday. Military members can receive a 40 percent discount on tickets purchased at the box office with a valid military ID. The team will wear military-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off immediately after the game at Express-News Headlines with proceeds benefiting Operation Comfort and the Rampage Sled Hockey Team.
RODEO ROAD TRIPPING: The Rampage have gone 4-3-0-0 during their annual Rodeo road trip after dropping a 3-1 decision to the Hamilton Bulldogs on Feb. 19. In eight sea- sons, the Rampage are 46-49-5-10 during the extended time away from the Alamo City with their best record occurring during the 2007-08 season after tallying a 7-3-1-3 record good for 18 points. The nine-game, 22-day journey will extend 10, 710 miles and include stops in Cleveland, Oklahoma City, Manitoba, Syracuse, Hamilton and Toronto.
CLIMIE-ING UP THE RANKS: Goaltender Matt Climie has only allowed 12 goals on 217 shot attempts in his last eight appearances, seven of which were starts, which translates to a .945 save percentage and a 1.80 goals against average in those contests.
FOR THE RECORD: Brett MacLean skated in his 200th professional contest on Feb. 18 at Syracuse while Matt Beaudoin recorded his 100th AHL point with an assist in the same game.
ICE CHIPS: Brett MacLean- Right wing
Right wing Brett MacLean recorded his first professional hat trick in the team's 4-2 win over the Syracuse Crunch on Feb. 18. He is the second person this season to score three goals in one game and the 10th player in franchise history.
The London, Ontario native leads the Rampage front line with 47 points on 22 goals and 25 assists. He is having a record season after breaking the franchise record for most goals, assists, points, power- play goals and games played. In addition, MacLean appeared in his first NHL game with the Rampage's NHL parent club, the Phoenix Coyotes, where he scored his first NHL goal during his first shift on the ice.
MacLean was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the second round (32nd overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
THIS WEEK'S GAMES
Monday, Feb. 21 @ Toronto Marlies
Ricoh Coliseum, 12:00 p.m.
The Rampage will travel to Toronto to face the Marlies for the second time this season in hopes of evening the series after suffering a 6-1 loss on Nov. 3. San Antonio looks to maintain their unbeaten road record at Ricoh Coliseum as they have gone 4-0-0-1 lifetime there.
Friday, Feb. 25 @ Oklahoma City Barons
Cox Convention Center, 7:05 p.m.
The Rampage will conclude their annual Rodeo road trip with a stop in Oklahoma City to skate against the Barons. The Rampage look to snap a three-game losing streak in the series as they still hold a 4-3-0-0 advan- tage over the Barons.
Saturday, Feb. 26 vs. Texas Stars
AT&T Center, 7:00 p.m.
The Rampage return home to face their in-state rival, the Texas Stars, at the AT&T Center on Saturday night. The series now sits at 2-3-2-0 after the Rampage earned a point in a 3-2 overtime loss the last time these clubs met.
