Published on February 21, 2011 under American Hockey League (AHL) News Release
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League announced today that Bridgeport Sound Tigers center David Ullstrom has been named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 20, 2011. Ullstrom scored six goals and totaled seven points in three games for the Sound Tigers last week.
Entering the week without a goal in his previous 21 games, Ullstrom picked up a goal and an assist at Springfield on Wednesday night. He scored twice more at Hershey on Saturday, and notched his first AHL hat trick to pace the Sound Tigers to a 4-2 win over Manchester on Sunday, ending an 11-game Bridgeport winless streak.
In recognition of his achievement, Ullstrom will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Sound Tigers home game.
