Crunch Announce Details of 'Irish Night'

Syracuse, NY (February 21, 2011) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today the details of 'Irish Night', to benefit the Syracuse St. Patrick's Day Parade and St. Patrick Hunger Project, on Saturday, February 26 when the club takes on the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. at The Oncenter War Memorial Arena.

In celebration of the upcoming St. Patrick's Day holiday and Syracuse St. Patrick's Day Parade, the Crunch are encouraging all fans to wear green to their February 26 game vs. Hamilton. In addition, 'Irish Night' will feature Irish music by the band 'Flyin' Column', a dance performance from the Johnston School of Irish Dance, decorations, and an intermission contest of 'Irish' musical chairs.

The Crunch will also be holding a food drive to benefit the St. Patrick Hunger Project and ask all fans attending that night to donate a non-perishable food item. Donation boxes will be located in the Montgomery and State Street lobbies and Memorial Hall. Discounted tickets for 'Irish Night' are just $15, with a portion of the proceeds going to support the Syracuse St. Patrick's Day Parade and the St. Patrick Hunger Project. The Syracuse St. Patrick's day parade is an annual celebration of Irish heritage through downtown Syracuse that will take place this year on Saturday, March 12. For more information, please visit www.syracusestpatricksparade.org.

The mission of the St. Patrick Hunger Project is to help support our community network of hunger-related agencies in meeting the food needs of the individuals and families they serve. By educating Central New Yorkers about An Gorta Mor in Ireland (The Great Hunger), the St. Patrick's Hunger project hopes to focus the efforts of fellow Syracusans on the need here, in our own community, to fight hunger year 'round, especially during the month of March when food supplies at the agencies are lower.

The Crunch continue their five-game home stand on Tuesday, February 22 vs. Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. at The Oncenter War Memorial Arena. Season and single-game tickets for the 2010-11 season are on sale and can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473- 4444, or by stopping by the Crunch office at The Oncenter War Memorial Arena, located at 800 South State Street in downtown Syracuse.
