February 1, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL)
San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Rampage will celebrate breast cancer survivors and raise awareness for breast health during their sixth annual Pink in the Rink game, presented by On Time Elmer, against the Texas Stars on Friday, Feb. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
The Rampage will skate on pink ice and wear special pink jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game with proceeds benefitting local breast cancer awareness and fundraising efforts. Annually the biggest game of the year for the Rampage, the San Antonio community continues to rally around this event and has helped the Rampage raise more than $196,000 for breast cancer awareness and research efforts to date.
Highlighting this year's Pink Week events is a survivor brunch that took place at the AT&T Center on Sunday. Survivors and their guests were treated to a mid-morning meal and a mocktail bar before taking an exclusive tour that included stops at the Rampage locker room and the newly-dyed pink ice. Attendees also learned how the ice was made and took photos with a signed breast cancer ribbon on the east end of the rink. The ribbon was signed by survivors and fans affected by cancer during Saturday night's game against the San Jose Barracuda.
On Tuesday, Feb. 2, fans can visit any of Bahama Bucks' nine San Antonio locations and enjoy a refreshing SNO (shaved ice) while helping to raise money in the fight against breast cancer. Bahama Bucks will donate 50% of all "Pink in the Rink" (pink lemonade) SNOs sold to breast cancer awareness and research efforts.
On Friday, Feb. 5, Pink Week will culminate with the annual Pink in the Rink game, presented by On Time Elmer. Puck drop against the Texas Stars is slated for 7:30 p.m. and will be the last chance for fans to catch the team before they head out for the annual Rodeo Road Trip. The special pink jerseys the team will be wearing will be auctioned off after the game.
The Silver and Black will also host a "golden puck" fundraiser on the concourse at the game. Fans can purchase an autographed Rampage specialty pink puck for $15 at the table outside section 122. Each puck will be individually wrapped, and the lucky fans to receive the "golden puck" (the puck signed in gold ink) will win one of three team-signed items.
