Wolves Welcoming Current and Former Servicemen for Military Appreciation Night

The Chicago Wolves are proud to host Military Appreciation Night, presented by Sears Home Services, on Saturday, Feb. 6, when the team faces the Iowa Wild at Allstate Arena.
The Wolves and Sears Home Services will honor current and former servicemen, servicewomen and their families for their selfless dedication to our country.
"We were uplifted by the responses to our Military Families initiatives," said Chicago Wolves president Mike Gordon. "Many people who make a practice of avoiding the spotlight graciously accepted the attention they deserve. We want to provide this opportunity while allowing families to enjoy their evening together. Partnering with Sears Home Services, which has an established connection with the military community, is a perfect fit."
Sears Holdings Corporation employs more than 25,000 veterans and 1,500 active members of the Reserve and National Guard.
"Sears' commitment to engaging and hiring veteran talent is not simply a tagline or token goodwill," said Sears Veterans Program Manager Scott M. Stratton, a former Army Sergeant. "It's much deeper than that. It is part of a deliberate business strategy to find proven, capable leaders that can excel in challenging, yet rewarding, environments. Our nation's military and its veterans have proven throughout the years that they are that talent source."
"In my time at SHC, I have found my military service to be both valued and valuable," said Sears National Account Manager George Hamilton, who's also an Army Major. "SHC has takent eh time and effort to ensure that my experiences are leveraged in my work and has been a great supporter in my endeavors as a U.S. Army Reservist."
Military Appreciation Night heralds the return of the exclusive Military Appreciation jerseys that the Wolves also will wear on Feb. 18 and 20. One of the jerseys belonging to goaltender Jordan Binnington and the jerseys of forward Spencer Asuchak and defenseman Tommy Vannelli will be available via blind auction at the games on Feb. 6, 18 and 20. All other game-worn Military Appreciation jerseys will be part of a silent auction that concludes during the second intermission on Feb. 20.
Fans also have the opportunity to bid in an online silent auction for a personalized Military Appreciation jersey. The auction starts on Feb. 5 and concludes at 5 p.m. on Feb. 22. The winner gets to select the name on the back of a No. 16 jersey.
Proceeds from the commemorative jerseys will benefit Chicago Wolves Charities, The Heart of a Marine Foundation, 1Fur1 Foundation, Defending the Blue Line and other military-related charities.
