San Antonio Rampage News Release

SAN ANTONIO (March 25, 2010) - The San Antonio Rampage will host Face-Off Against Kids Cancer Night this Saturday when the Rampage take on the Lake Erie Monsters at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.

The team will wear specially designed jerseys featuring the Face-Off Against Kids Cancer logo on the front. The jerseys will be auctioned off immediately after the game in which all proceeds will benefit the program and Christus Santa Rosa. Prior to the puck drop, each child that has participated in the program over the course of the season will be presented a special keepsake by their Rampage buddy on the ice.

Face-Off Against Kids Cancer is a program that pairs Rampage hockey players with children from the Centers for Oncology and Blood Disorders at Christus Santa Rosa, in either early stages of treatment for pediatric cancer or in remission. Through a series of social events that included a pizza and board game party at the hospital, an ice cream social after a Rampage game, a visit to SeaWorld and the San Antonio Rodeo, the program has helped Rampage players forge lasting relationships with their respective buddies over the course of the season.

Originally initiated by the Mississippi Sea Wolves Hockey Club in 2003 and duplicated by the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies Hockey Club and the Phoenix RoadRunners Hockey Club, Face-Off Against Kids Cancer has touched hundreds of lives and raised thousands of dollars since its inception.
