Moose Release Brandt & Kashirsky From PTO's

The Manitoba Moose today announced they have released forwards Andy Brandt and Nikita Kashirsky from their professional tryout contracts.

Brandt, 22, appeared in three Moose games this season. The Wausau, WI native has also appeared in 59 games this season with the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL. In that span, he has scored 27 points (12g & 15a) while collecting 36 penalty minutes. He has played in 207 career ECHL games with Gwinnett and Victoria for a career total 102 points (40g & 62a) and 103 penalty minutes.

Kashirsky, 25, played in 16 games with the Moose this season after signing his PTO on Jan. 21/10. In that span, he collected three points (2g & 1a) along with eight penalty minutes. He started the season with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL where he appeared in 36 games for 31 points (17g & 14a). The Moscow, Russia native made his AHL debut with the Springfield Falcons this season where he collected three points (1g & 2a) in his nine game stint. Previously, he played in 110 career NCAA games in four seasons (2005-09) with Norwich University where he racked up 144 career points (73g & 14a) and 111 penalty minutes.
