
Rampage 08-09 Opponents Announced

SAN ANTONIO (June 25, 2008) - The AHL has announced the roster of opponents for the
San Antonio Rampage for the upcoming 2008-09 AHL regular season. The Rampage will
receive and make their first ever visits with Hershey and Binghamton. The Rampage
will begin the 2008-09 AHL regular season in October. San Antonio Rampage season

The Rampage, who made the playoffs last season, will be entering their 7th AHL season and will face 21 different teams. All total 68 of their 80 games inside the Western Conference. Inside the West Division San Antonio will play 50 games against seven opponents.
The Rampage will face off against divisional foes Houston, Peoria, Quad City and Iowa eight times, each four home and four road. Also inside the West Division they will play defending Calder Cup Champion Chicago, Milwaukee and Rockford six times, each three home and three road.
In the North Division they will play four games against Lake Erie and Manitoba, with each team hosting twice. They will also play a home and home series with Toronto, a rematch of a tremendous seven game first round playoff series this past spring, Hamilton, Rochester, Syracuse and Grand Rapids.
Against the Eastern Conference the Rampage will play a home and home series against Providence, Worchester, Binghamton, Bridgeport, Hershey, and Wilkes Barre / Scranton.
San Antonio plays the Bridgeport Soundtigers and the defending Eastern Conference Champion Wilkes Barre / Scranton Penguins, both for the first time since the 2002-03 season. All-time San Antonio is 2-0-0-0 against Bridgeport and 1-0-1-0 against Wilkes / Barre.
There are eight teams in the AHL that the Rampage will not face in the 2008-09 regular season (Hartford, Lowell, Manchester, Portland, Springfield, Albany, Norfolk and Philadelphia.)
The target date for release of the complete 2008-09 AHL regular season schedule is August 1st.
In operation since 1936, the AHL continues to serve as the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. More than 84 percent of today's NHL players are American Hockey League graduates, and for the seventh year in a row, more than six million fans attended AHL games across North America in 2007-08.
