Connecticut Whale News Release
HARTFORD, June 27, 2008: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld today announced the schedule format that has been assigned to the team by the AHL for the 2008-09 season.
Once again in 2008-09, the Wolf Pack's most familiar opponents will be their cross-border rivals the Springfield Falcons and their Nutmeg-State adversaries the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The Pack will meet both the Falcons and Sound Tigers ten times each, five home and five away.
The Wolf Pack will play each of their other Atlantic-Division opponents, the Providence Bruins, Portland Pirates, Manchester Monarchs, Worcester Sharks and Lowell Devils, eight times each (four home and four away). Other Eastern-Conference games include two meetings each (one home, one away) with the Albany River Rats, Hershey Bears, Philadelphia Phantoms and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
A new wrinkle to the Wolf Pack's schedule of opponents this coming season is the Pack's first-ever meetings with the Grand Rapids Griffins (one home, one away) and the Lake Erie Monsters (one home, one away). The Wolf Pack will also see the Manitoba Moose for the first time since the 2002-03 campaign, with four games scheduled (two home, two away) vs. the Moose in 2008-09. Other Canadian opposition will come from the Hamilton Bulldogs (one home and one away) and the Toronto Marlies (one home and one away).
The Wolf Pack's full schedule of specific game dates is expected to be finalized in early August. Information on all of the Wolf Pack's ticketing options, including full-season, six, 10 and 20-game packages, coupon books and group discounts, is available at www.hartfordwolfpack.com, and by contacting the Wolf Pack Ticket Office at (860) 548-2000.
