Flames Unveil Format for 2008-09 Schedule

The Quad City Flames announced today the format of their schedule for the 2008-09 season. Quad City will play 64 games vs. teams from the West Division of the AHL and 16 games vs. opponents from the North Division.

The Flames will play an equal number of home and road games against each opponent during the 2008-09 season. The team's most frequent foe will be Iowa as the teams meet a total of 12 times. Quad City is scheduled for ten meetings against their closest geographic rival, the Peoria Rivermen. The Flames will also face Milwaukee ten times. This marks an additional two meetings against the Admirals after the team's faced off eight times in 2007-08.

The Flames' remaining intra-division schedule will be play against Chicago, Houston, Rockford and San Antonio. Quad City will face each of those squads eight times.

Quad City will face North Division foes from Grand Rapids and Manitoba four times each. The Flames remaining inter-division schedule will feature two games each vs. Lake Erie, Hamilton, Rochester and Toronto. The Flames will face Lake Erie for a pair after playing the Monsters four times in 2007-08. For a second consecutive year, the Flames will not face Syracuse or any Eastern Conference opponents.
