Tacoma, WA - The Tacoma Rainiers implemented an offense onslaught to down the Nashville Sounds 15-4 in front of 5,922 fans at Cheney Stadium on Tuesday.

The Rainiers collected a season-high 17 hits against the Sounds and equaled their team best for runs scored in a game en route to extending the club's winning streak to a season-long three games.

After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the third, the Rainiers pulled ahead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning. Outfielders Mike Carp and Ryan Langerhans each collected RBI-singles with two outs in the frame that gave Tacoma a lead that would ultimately last.

The Rainiers broke things open with 13 runs on nine hits over the fourth through the sixth innings. Alex Liddi's one-out double scored Dustin Ackley to highlight a three-run fourth and his two-run double in the fifth accounted for half of the four runs Tacoma notched in the fifth. The outfielder Carp turned out to be the focal point in Tacoma's six-run effort in the sixth after hitting a grand slam home run, his team-leading 12th of the season, with two outs in the inning.

Carp has now hit safely in 25 of his last 27 games and is currently riding a 13-game hit streak in outings played at Cheney Stadium. The infielder Liddi and Sean Kazmar each turned in three hit performances, with Liddi collecting four RBI to go along with a pair of doubles. Ackley went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and four runs scored.
