Rain Suspends Jumbo Shrimp and Generals on Saturday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Rain and inclement weather suspended Saturday's game between the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and Jackson Generals with the Generals ahead 1-0 in the top of inning at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The game will resume at 3:05 p.m. on Sunday with Sunday's scheduled contest to be played as a seven-inning affair immediately.

Fans can exchange regular individual tickets for Saturday's game at the Jumbo Shrimp box office for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining regular season home game.

Pavin Smith walked against Jumbo Shrimp starter Dustin Beggs with one out in the top of the first. After Smith moved to second on a ground out, Jeffrey Baez notched an RBI single to make it 1-0 Jackson. After a walk, the game went into before getting suspended. When play resumes on Sunday, the Generals will start with runners on first and second and one out.

Saturday's winning raffle number of 2084708023 won a prize of $250.

Gates open at 2 p.m. on Sunday for the first Baptist Health Sunday Family of the season. Families are welcome to play catch on the field before the game, plus Jumbo Shrimp players will be signing autographs. Each Sunday also features free face painting, balloon animals and popular kids show and movie characters roaming the park. "Paw Patrol's" Chase and Sky will be around on Sunday at the Baseball Grounds and following the game, kids 12 and under can run the bases.

Sunday's contest is also Kids Opening Day, as the Jumbo Shrimp will welcome kids to take over the ballpark. From a ceremonial first pitch to singing the National Anthem, taking out the lineup card at home plate, guest public address announcing and emceeing and leading the Launch-A-Ball countdown, the Jumbo Shrimp will make sure their first Sunday home game is all about kids.
