Fog Suspends Barons-Shuckers

BILOXI, MS - Saturday night's matchup of the Birmingham Barons (0-2) and the Biloxi Shuckers (2-0) was suspended in the third inning at MGM Park due to fog, with the Barons leading 3-0.

The game will be resumed Sunday as part of a doubleheader, the second doubleheader of the series. Game one will resume at 12:35 p.m. heading into the top of the third and go the full nine innings. Game two will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one as a seven-inning contest.

Heading into the top of the third inning with Birmingham leading 3-0, the fog reached the tipping point and the game was delayed at 7:24 p.m. It was the first ever fog delay in MGM Park history.

The Barons immediately got off to a quicker start than Friday's games. Birmingham loaded the bases second inning after Ti'Quan Forbes reached on an error, Mitch Roman walked and Alfredo Gonzalez walked. Joel Booker tallied his third RBI of the series, walking with the bases loaded, and was followed up with sac flies from Luis Gonzalez (White Sox No. 10 prospect) and Micker Adolfo (No. 8 prospect).

WJQX-FM 100.5 will be the home of the Barons on Sunday. Fans can tune into the Coca-Cola Pregame Show on WJQX at 12:20 p.m.

The Barons will conclude their road trip Monday in Biloxi before an off-day Tuesday. Birmingham's home opener is set for 7:05 p.m. Wednesday at Regions Field against the Tennessee Smokies, affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.?
