Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release

MOOSIC, PA. - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, are thrilled to announce that John Wetteland will make an appearance at PNC Field on July 13 as part of the 2018 Legends Series. Wetteland won a World Series title with the Yankees in 1996 and was tabbed as the championship round's Most Valuable Player.

Wetteland was originally selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1985 and made his Major League debut in 1989. After pitching for the Dodgers and Expos, Wetteland was traded to the Yankees for Fernando Seguignol in 1995.

In 1996, Wetteland led the American League with 43 saves and, during the World Series against Atlanta, the closer recorded a save in all four New York victories.

Wetteland joins Tim Raines (June 9), Jose Canseco (June 19), Rickey Henderson (June 30), John Flaherty (August 3) and Andre Dawson (August 18) to cap the 2018 Legends Series, presented by Nasser Limousine and Mohegan Sun Pocono in conjunction with Steiner Sports.

Fans can purchase a 2018 Legends Series ticket package for $550.00. The Legends Series ticket package includes 2 tickets (best available seating) for each of the six dates in the plan, admission for two into the private 30 minute pre-game Meet & Greet with the Legends before each game date and one signed item at the end of the season that will feature signatures from each of the six legends.
