RailCats Sign RHP Quinn DiPasquale to First Professional Contract

GARY, Ind. - The Gary SouthShore RailCats have signed right-handed pitcher Quinn DiPasquale to his first professional baseball contact. He replaces fellow right-hander replaces Daniel Minor, who signed with the Saltillo Saraperos of the Mexican League.

DiPasquale signs out of Divison-III Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, where he pitched all four years for the Ducks. In 2018, he was named Honorable Mention All-Empire 8 Conference and was twice named Empire 8 Pitcher of the Week. For the season, he compiled a 4-3 record with a 3.90 ERA over 12 starts, striking out 78 batters in 67.0 innings pitched.

The Chelmsford, Massachusetts native went 7-7 over his full collegiate career, compiling a 3.75 ERA in 37 games (23 starts), striking out 143 batters in 139.1 innings and allowing just 126 hits.

In the summer of 2017, DiPasquale was a Northwoods League All-Star with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, going 6-2 record with a 3.66 ERA and 56 strikeouts over 61.1 innings.

DiPasquale replaces Minor on the roster, who pitched a complete-game shutout in his final appearance with Gary on July 25. Minor was 11-2 this season with a 2.50 ERA and 77 strikeouts over 97.0 innings. He was the American Association Pitcher of the Week for June 18-24. After being acquired from the Winnipeg Goldeyes on August 10, 2017, Minor went 14-3 with a 2.22 ERA over 22 appearances (21 starts) as a RailCat.

The RailCats begin a seven-game road trip tonight with a doubleheader at Cleburne beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the second game following 30 minutes later. The twin bill kicks off a five-game series against the Railroaders, followed by two games in Grand Prarie against the Texas AirHogs. The RailCats will have next Thursday off before returning to the U.S. Steel Yard on August 3rd for a three-game series with the Wichita Wingnuts.
