WINNIPEG, Man.- The RailCats pitching staff combined on a six-hit shutout of Winnipeg in a 4-0 victory on Saturday night. It was the 'Cats first shutout win of the year and their first since July 18, 2011 in a 4-0 win at Ft. Worth.

Kyle Haines homered to left to lead off the second inning, his first of the season. It ended a seven-game homerless drought for the RailCats. Brian Kolb followed with a double, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Ryan Babineau, and scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0. Goldeyes starter Zach Baldwin (0-1), making his first start of the season, lasted just two-plus frames and took the loss.

In the fifth, Mike Massaro beat out a two-out RBI infield single to increase the lead to 3-0. In the bottom of the inning, RailCats starter Morgan Coombs loaded the bases with two out and was relieved by Marco Gonzalez, who struck out Dan Barbero to end the inning.

The RailCats added a run in the seventh on a two-out RBI double by Rico Washington. The 'Cats are now 6-0 when scoring four or more runs this season.

Gonzalez (1-0) pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings for the win. Chris Allen pitched a scoreless seventh and eighth, and has yet to allow a run in 11 1/3 innings of work this season. Will Krout pitched the ninth, as left fielder Mike Coles made a spectacular diving catch to preserve the shutout and end the game.

The RailCats will look to win their third straight rubber match in the series finale on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. RailCats right-hander Andrew Johnston (0-2, 4.50) will oppose Goldeyes right-hander Ace Walker (1-0, 3.45).
