LAST TIME OUT: Ryan de Melo made 17 saves on 20 shots, Evansville's Justin MacDonald notched a hat trick and the Rail Yard Dawgs were shut out by the Thunderbolts, 4-0, Saturday night at the Berglund Center. Thunderbolts goaltender Tanner Milliron made 26 saves to earn the shutout. Peter Gintoli and Tyler Gjurich each put five shots on net in the losing effort.

FRIDAY: The Dawgs will face the Ice Bears for the fourth time this season and the second time in Knoxville. Roanoke has gone 0-3-0 against the Ice Bears and was beaten, 7-4, in Knoxville on 10/22. That game featured a combined 132 penalty minutes, 57 for Roanoke and 75 for Knoxville. The Rail Yard Dawgs last saw the Ice Bears on 11/10 in Roanoke and allowed five third period goals en route to a 6-4 loss.

SATURDAY: Roanoke will tangle with Fayetteville for the second time this season, hoping to build off of a 4-2 win over the FireAntz on 11/4 at the Berglund Center. Peter Gintoli, Jackson Brewer, Bryan Dallaire and Nick Schneider all recorded two-point games and Brandon Anderson made 30 saves on 32 shots in the Dawgs win. It was the second loss of a six-game Fayetteville losing streak that was snapped with a 4-0 victory over Evansville on Sunday.

SHOULD WE SHOOT LESS?: The Rail Yard Dawgs out-shot the Thunderbolts, 26-20, during Saturday's shutout loss and are now 0-3-1 when out-shooting an opponent. Conversely, Roanoke is 4-1-0 when being out-shot.

WORKING ON THE HOLIDAY: The SPHL featured one game on Thanksgiving as Knoxville took out the Huntsville Havoc in Huntsville, 4-3. Ice Bears goaltender Brian Billet left the game in the second period with an apparent injury after stopping all 21 shots he faced.

MAKING PLAYS: Dawgs forward Jackson Brewer had an eight-game point streak snapped on Saturday against Evansville but his 12 points are tied for fourth most in the SPHL and his nine assists are tied for second most.

BLANKED: The Rail Yard Dawgs were shut out by Evansville, 4-0, on Saturday, their second shutout loss of the season. Roanoke was previously shut out by Knoxville, 2-0, during the season opener on 10/21. The Dawgs have out-shot the opponent during both of the shutout losses and Roanoke has yet to shut out an opponent.

FAMILIAR FOES: Roanoke plays its fourth game against Knoxville on Friday and its second against Fayetteville on Saturday. The FireAntz and Ice Bears are two of the only four teams that the Dawgs have faced thus far. Each of Roanoke's first 19 games will come against Knoxville, Fayetteville, Evansville or Huntsville. The Rail Yard Dawgs will not see another new opponent until hosting the Macon Mayem on 12/30

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: Roanoke just concluded a stretch of six straight games at home during which it went 2-2-2. The Dawgs will return home for two against the Huntsville Havoc after the weekend in Tennessee and North Carolina.
