LAST TIME OUT: The Mayhem's last game was on the road vs. the FireAntz. Macon skated away with a 5-3 victory in that game. League-leader in points, John Siemer, recorded four points (2 goals, 2 assists). The Mayhem extended their win streak to eight games. The FireAntz won their last game 4-0 at home against the Evansville Thunderbolts.
ALL-TIME SERIES: The Mayhem are 6-5-0 all-time against Fayetteville. Last season, these teams went 5-5-0 against each other, and the Mayhem have won the only matchup this season.
SCOUTING THE FIREANTZ: Fayetteville is lead offensively by Tayler Thompson, who has 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists). Following him is newcomer, Jake Hauswirth, whom the FireAntz just acquired from Peoria. The main goaltender for the FireAntz is Sean Bonar, who is 4-5-0 with a 2.57 GAA and a .898 SV%.
WALLING OFF THE SPHL: The Mayhem average the fewest goals against in the league (2.09). The team has two of the best goaltenders in the league. Garrett Bartus is 5-1-1 with a GAA of 2.12 and a SV% of .934, while Jordan Ruby ranks first in the league with a record of 4-0-0, a 1.99 GAA, and a .938 SV%.
YOUNG GUNS: John Siemer has scored a point in nine of the team's 11 games this season, while Collin MacDonald has scored two points in each of his last five games. After recording just one point in his first five games, Daniel Echeverri has now scored four goals and added two assists in the last six games.
A LOOK TO THE FUTURE: Columbus will be in Macon tomorrow to face off against the Mayhem. Next week, the Mayhem and FireAntz will play a home-and-home, with Fayetteville travelling to Macon on Friday before returning to the Crown Coliseum on Saturday.
