The Rivermen completed a blockbuster trade this past Monday, sending center Jake Hauswirth and defenseman Mark Corbett to Fayetteville in exchange for winger Adam Stuart. Stuart spent the 2015-16 season with the Rivermen, skating in 54 games and posting a team-high 44 points on 21 goals and 23 assists. In his six-year SPHL career, Stuart has notched 234 points on 102 goals and 132 assists in 277 games, earning a career +19 rating along the way.

RETURN OF THE CAPTAIN

Monday's trade also allowed the Rivermen the necessary veteran space to re-sign captain Dan Bremner, who had been waived on November 11. In 106 career regular-season games with the Rivermen, Bremner has logged 17 goals, 32 assists, and 336 penalty minutes. In 257 total SPHL games, Bremner is a +11, scoring 43 goals and assisting on 70 more with 640 career PIM.

BREAK DOWN THE WALL(IN)

Sunday's Rivermen victory was the first multi-point game of the year for center Terrence Wallin, who has now posted four assists in four games since returning from ECHL Adirondack. Last season with the Rivermen, Wallin scored 12 goals and 11 assists in 33 games before he was loaned to Adirondack, where he finished the season with four goals and seven assists in 25 ECHL games for the Thunder, adding one assist in nine playoff contests.

WHAT'S AHEAD

After tonight's game, the Rivermen and Thunderbolts will rematch tomorrow night at 7:05 with Peoria scheduled to hold their annual Teddy Bear Toss to benefit the Salvation Army. Peoria will then return to the road next weekend for games at Huntsville December 1 and Columbus December 2 & 3. The Rivermen will then host Knoxville for a single game December 9 before playing a home-and-home pair with the Thunderbolts December 16 in Evansville and December 17 in Peoria.

The Rivermen come into play this weekend after a three-game, three-day, three-city road trip in which they took five out of a possible six points, winning in overtime Friday night in Knoxville, winning Saturday afternoon in regulation at Huntsville, then falling in overtime Sunday afternoon in Mississippi. The points lift Peoria into a fourth-place tie with the RiverKings in the SPHL standings, five points behind first-place Macon.

THE SERIES

Tonight's game is the second of 12 meetings this season and the second all-time meeting between the Rivermen and Thunderbolts in franchise history. Peoria won the first ever meeting between the two teams in a morning contest November 2, 5-1 in Evansville. After tonight the Rivermen and Thunderbolts will rematch tomorrow, then will square off December 16 in Evansville and rematch in Peoria the following night. The teams will clash December 23, January 22, 28, and February 21 in Evansville, and January 15 and February 24 and 25 in Peoria.

SCOUTING THE THUNDERBOLTS

Evansville enters play tonight in last place in the SPHL, but with two wins in their last three games. The Thunderbolts took a shootout victory last Thursday in Roanoke before beating the Rail Yard Dawgs again 4-0 in regulation on Saturday. Evansville then fell 4-0 Sunday at Fayetteville to drop their record to 2-9-3 for the season. The Thunderbolts are paced in point production this season by winger Dave Williams, who has notched five goals and assisted on two more in 12 games this year. Evansville's leading point producer is defenseman Brad Bourke, who has scored two goals and posted six assists in 14 games for the Bolts this year. In net, Tanner Milliron has played in eight games for Evansville, going 1-6-1 despite a solid 3.14 GAA and a .903 save percentage.

A FAMILIAR FOE

Evansville enters play tonight with three former Rivermen on their active roster, one more on injured reserve and another currently on loan to the ECHL. Center Garrett Vermeersch played in 127 games for the Rivermen from 2013-15, Josh Harris skated in 71 games for the Rivermen from 2014-16, and defenseman Mike Donnellan played in 27 games for Peoria last season before a call-up to ECHL Missouri.
