
RiverKings Sign Parizek, Luker on Bereavement

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach Derek Landmesser announced today that the team has signed defenseman Tomas Parizek to a standard player contract and that defenseman Chris Luker has been granted bereavement leave.
Parizek, 22, joined the RiverKings last week on a three-game tryout contract. The 6-foot-2, 201-pound Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic native began the year with the Pensacola Ice Flyers before signing with the RiverKings. In his first professional season in North America, Parizek has two assists. Terms and conditions were not released on his contract.
Luker, 24, began his rookie season this year and appeared in 10 games with the RiverKings. The New Hartford, New York native had one goal and five assists and was +5. There is no timetable for his return from bereavement.
The RiverKings are in Columbus tonight as they battle the Cottonmouths at 6:30 p.m. The team returns to the Landers Center tomorrow night to take on the Knoxville Ice Bears for the team's annual Dachshund Dash. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or at the Landers Center Box Office.
