Rage Sign Forward Ladislav Kouba

Broomfield, Colo. - The Rocky Mountain Rage signed free agent left winger Ladislav Kouba today. The former seventh round draft choice of the Phoenix Coyotes will make his Rage debut tonight when the club welcomes the Arizona Sundogs to Broomfield Event Center at 7:05 p.m.

Kouba is a fifth-year pro who left his native Czech Republic to play in the Western Hockey League, where he won a Memorial Cup with the Red Deer Rebels in 2001. Drafted by the Coyotes in 2002, once he turned pro he split time among the AHL, UHL, ECHL, and CHL while playing for the Phoenix organization.

Kouba had his best professional campaign in 2005-06 when he posted 53 points (26g-27a) with the Laredo Bucks, who he helped lead to the President's Cup Championship along with Rage captain Brent Cullaton. He began this season with the Wichita Thunder and Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees before arriving in Broomfield.
