In Laredo's last game, a 6-1 win against Tulsa, the Bucks jumped out to a 4-0 lead, before adding tallies in the second and third periods to take the win. Laredo had six different goal scorers, with Chris Korchinski leading the way with one goal and two assists.
Jeff Bes, who tallied eight points in the Bucks three wins last week, is second in the CHL scoring with 72 points (29-43=72). Bes' 72 points have come in 45 game this season, surpassing his 2006-07 campaign. In that season Bes played in 51 games scoring 68 points.
Laredo enters tonight's game with an eight point lead over Arizona in the Southern Conference, and a 24 point lead in the division over Corpus Christi.
The Bucks have 19 regular season games left, eight of which are on the road where they have struggled as of late. After starting out 6-0 away from home, Laredo is now 11-8-2 on the road.
Austin enters tonight's game on a cold streak, as they have lost three of their last four games, including the last two in New Mexico. The Ice Bats have been battling for the fifth and final playoff spot in the South, and come in five points behind the Rayz.
Austin lost two one-goal games to the Scorpions last week, 1-0, and 4-3. In the 4-3 loss Austin trailed 3-0, before tying the game at 3-3, but they gave up a goal late in the second period.
Brendan Cook leads the Ice Bats with 35 points this season (16-19=35).
