Rafters Look to Continue Winning Ways

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.- Wisconsin Rapids looks to build on a three-game winning streak after defeating the Battle Creek Bombers in a pair of seven inning games on Friday night. The Rafters picked up the win in game one in walk-off fashion, 7-6, overcoming a four-run deficit to win on an infield single by Zack Domingues, scoring Jonah Bride. Game two saw the Rafters get out to a 3-0 lead before the Bombers attempted comeback came up short and Wisconsin Rapids squeaked out a 4-3 victory.

This series will feature a sequel when it comes to pitching matchups. Jack Riley will be on the mound for the Rafters Saturday evening against the Growlers. Riley makes his second start of the summer, and second against these Kalamazoo Growlers. On June 7th, the UConn Husky went six innings and struck out five while earning his first win of the summer. The opposing pitcher will be Matt Frawley for Kalamazoo. He started the game against the Rafters on June 7th and took the loss against Riley and company.

The Rafters hit the road for another two games in Lakeshore after the two game series in Kalamazoo. The Rafters return home to Historic Witter Field Wednesday to take on the first place Kenosha Kingfish. Tickets are still available, call 715-424-5400.
