Green Bay, Wis.- The Bullfrogs host Madison for the first time this season after two straight mid-week series at the "Duck Pond." In four games, the Bullfrogs have split with the Mallards. Tonight is Jockey Being Family Superhero night. First pitch is 6:05PM.

In last week's pair of games with the Mallards, the Bullfrogs could have won both. In the first game on Tuesday night, Green Bay took a 3-2 lead into the eighth inning until Madison scored three runs and won leaving two Bullfrogs base runners stranded in scoring position in the ninth inning.

Yet the Bullfrogs compiled one of their best performances of the year in their last game against the Mallards. Luke Crabb (VCU) took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, as Madison squeaked out just two hits and two runs. And the Bullfrogs offense was timely and productive. Green Bay swooped to a 4-0 lead, including a Paul Jacobson (South Dakota State) home run, which carried them to a 5-3 win.

When it's all said and done, a season split at one of the Northwood League's most hostile road environments is getting the job accomplished.

Now the Bullfrogs will attempt to sweep their first season series, after five official splits within the first 14 games of the campaign.

Ryan Radue (UConn) will start tonight and Parker Hamilton (Florida Gulf Coast) the next day as everyone was pushed up one slot in the starting rotation. Last night, Alex Martinez (De Anza) battled through five innings, giving up 4 runs (2 earned) as seven errors riddled the Bullfrogs chances of climbing back into the driver's seat.

An up-and-down Bullfrogs team will play a Madison team that has lost seven of their last ten contests. Although the Mallards' pitching is still tops in the league (2.50ERA), a team batting average once over .260 after one week of play has plummeted to .234.

Madison will put their trust in right-handed starting pitcher A.J. Bogucki (North Carolina) who tossed two scoreless innings of relief work against the Bullfrogs on June 3rd. In his first start, his 3IP/4R(3ER)/7H/2K-1BB performance gave him the loss at Kenosha.

Madison Manager, Donnie Scott, has exhibited he's no patient overseer of his pitcher's outings. In the last game against the Bullfrogs, he removed Grant Spranger (Southeastern C.C.) after two innings and thereafter used five other pitchers.

Like Skip Handelsman, Scott wants to win games at any cost, clashing two of the most tenured and competitive managers against one another for the fifth time this season. In total, Scott and Handelsman have 473 Northwoods League victories.

Both of these skippers know that in order to climb the division standings, they both need to clean up defensive miscues. Both Madison and Green Bay have committed over 30 errors on the season.

The Mallards' four errors against Green Bay in the last meeting put an emphatic touch on a well-pitched game by Crabb, Ben Messenger (UW-Oshkosh), and Jeremy Graf (Flagler). However, the Bullfrogs have had similar problems in the field. Green Bay's seven errors in the recent loss to the Woodchucks is tied for a league high in a single game.

Skip Handelsman's club enters with a 6-8 record, five games behind Kenosha for first. The Mallards are 9-8 after splitting a double-header with the Lakeshore Chinooks Friday evening.

Tonight is Jockey Being Family Family Superhero Night. The Bullfrogs will wear a set of Superhero uniforms that can be bid on throughout the night to be auctioned off at the conclusion of the contest. Kids will also be able to run the bases and there is a post game fireworks show presented by Pepsi.

Single game tickets are on sale now. Visit www.greenbaybullfrogs.com to purchase tickets. The Bullfrogs' business hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
