Rafters Hope to Carry over Energy from Last Night's Walk-Off

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - Last night's walk off performance pushed the Rafters to 10-9 on the second half and 25-29 and are only 1.5 games back from the south division leaders. The win caused the Chinooks to fall 9-10 on the second half and to tie with the Rafters for overall record at 25-29. Tonight, the Rafters will face the Chinooks for the final matchup between the two games in 2018. With last night's close game, tonight is sure to entertain.

Last night, Jake Dunham (Northern Illinois) hit his first home run of the season to score the first run of the game for the Rafters. In his Witter Field debut, Tyler Fedje-Johnson (Davidson) drew the bases loaded hit by pitch to score the winning run.

On the hill tonight for the Rafters is Trayson Kubo (Stephen F. Austin). The junior righty is 5-1 with the Rafters and has a 1.29 ERA. In 42.0 innings pitched, he has struck out 39, walked 24 and allowed 26 hits. Kubo's last appearance came in the 2018 Northwoods League All-Star Game where he pitched a scoreless two-thirds of an inning with a strikeout.

Pitching for the Chinooks will be Kevin Tibor (Carthage). Tibor sports a 4-4 record and a 2.12 ERA. Three of Tibor's four wins have come against the Rafters. In his 55 innings pitched, he has struck out 30 batters and allowed 41 hits and only 8 walks.

The first pitch is slated for 7:05p.m. The Rafters will continue their home stand with two games of a four-game series against the Rockford Rivets on Saturday and Sunday.
