Woodchucks Walk It off over Dock Spiders 5-4

WAUSAU, WI- The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (32-22) fell in dramatic fashion the the Wisconsin Woodchucks (23-31) in the 9th inning 5-4.

In the top of the 2nd the game would be paused for twenty five minutes due to rain that came down hard but did not last long.

Austin Wagner (Ellsworth CC)had the start on the mound for the Spiders and threw for four innings allowing just one hit, no runs, while dishing out two strikeouts.

After four scoreless frames the Woodchucks would grab four runs in the 5th inning off of four hits.

The Dock Spider offense would come alive in the 6th inning ripping out four straight singles. The first two were produced by Jacob Adams (Ole Miss)and Mitch Boe (Iowa).Cole Zabowski (Ole Miss) would send home Adams for the spiders first run of the ball game. A second RBI single in the inning would follow after Zabowski's this time coming off the bat of Andrew Bullock (Western Carolina).

The lead would be cut to one as the Spiders were able to pick up one more run in the frame which came on a walk.

With Fondy down 4-3 in the 8th and two outs Jacob Adams (Ole Miss) had runners on first and second. Adams would knock one into right center field which sent home one run. The go ahead run which at first thought was home at the plate would be called back from the home plate umpire ruling that the Dock Spider runner did not step on home plate.

Wisconsin would capitalize in the bottom of the 9th with the bases loaded taking the ball game 5-4.

Fond du Lac will host the Wisconsin Woodchucks for one final time this season tomorrow night at 6:35.
