OMAHA, Neb. -- Guillermo Quiroz collected two hits and accounted for every Rainiers run in Tacoma's 3-2 series-opening win over the Omaha Storm Chasers at Werner Park on Thursday.

The catcher Quiroz eliminated a 1-0 Storm Chasers lead and put Tacoma on top in the second inning with a two-run single to right field that scored Carlos Peguero and Luis Jimenez.

After Omaha's Wil Meyers hit an RBI-single that tied the game at 2-2 in the fifth inning, Quiroz drove in the go-ahead run for the Rainiers again with a solo home run in the top of the seventh - his seventh this season.

Alongside Josh Kinney, Oliver Perez and Stephen Pryor, left-hander Sean Henn fronted a bullpen that combined to toss 4.1 shutout innings for Tacoma. Henn improved his record to 3-0 this season following 2.0 shutout innings after coming in to relieve starter Erasmo Ramirez in the fifth.

Pryor earned his first Triple-A save after allowing one hit and striking out two over 1.0 inning of work in the ninth. The right-hander has allowed just one hit, struck out 11 batters and has not allowed a run to score over five appearances and 7.0 innings since his promotion to Tacoma from Double-A Jackson on May 7.

The starter Ramirez gave up both runs to the Storm Chasers on five hits and struck out two over 4.2 innings in his third turn in the Rainiers rotation this season.

The Rainiers (16-24) take the field for the second leg of the club's four-game series at Omaha (25-16) tomorrow, May 18. Right-hander Andrew Carraway (1-0, 0.00) is scheduled to make his second start for Tacoma this season against right-hander Jake Odorizzi (0-0, -.--) for the Storm Chasers. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. PT.
