
Prime's Huge Night Helps AirHogs Even Lincoln Series

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Texas AirHogs evened the series in Lincoln with a 6-5 victory Monday night at Haymarket Park. Correlle Prime homered and recorded a season-best five RBIs to power the win. The teams decide the three-game series Tuesday at 6:45.
Prime's first RBI of the night came on two-out RBI single to score Casio Grider in the game's opening inning. The run was the first of the night surrendered by Saltdogs lefty Kyle Kinman (6-5), who went on to surrender five more over the next four innings in taking the loss.
Christian Ibarra and Randolph Oduber each went deep for solo homers off AirHogs starter Zhang Tao (3-2) in the first, but Zhang settled in, allowing just one more run over the next four innings on the way to the win. He struck out three and walked two in his second win vs. Lincoln this season.
Prime helped even the game in the third with another RBI base hit to score Javion Randle. Prime highlighted a four-run attack in the fifth with a three-run homer to make it 6-2. The blast was the 6th of the season for first baseman/outfielder. Randle also picked up an RBI in the fifth, tripling home Liang Pei.
Tyler Matzek took over for Zhang in the sixth and faced the minimum over two frames of relief. Cesar Valera took Taylor Wright for a two-run homer in the eighth to tighten the contest up at 6-5 before closer Carlos Contreras set aside the Saltdogs 1-2-3 in the ninth. The save was the 14th of the season for Contreras.
The win snapped a four-game losing skid for the AirHogs. Prime finished with three hits and reached four times. Grider and Du Xiaoci each finished with two hits. Grider scored twice. Texas outhit Lincoln 9-8.
The AirHogs (25-68) closes the series with Lincoln (46-47) Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. RHP Brad Thoutt (2-1, 5.96 ERA) is expected to start for Lincoln. The AirHogs starter is TBA. A live stream of all the action will be available at mixlr.com/TXAirHogs.
