
Priester Silences Dash Bats, Winston-Salem Falls 4-1

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Winston-Salem Dash fell 4-1 on Friday night against the Greensboro Grasshoppers in the fourth of a six-game series at Truist Stadium.
Jeremiah Burkegot the start for Winston-Salem after a long stretch on the injured list. Burke was limited to one inning in his return from the IL, allowing one run off a hit while fanning a pair. Quinn Priestertoed the rubber for Greensboro and silenced the Dash with seven innings of shutout baseball, allowing only two walks and whiffing ten Winston-Salem batters.
Wilber Perez entered in the eighth and pitched into trouble to give Greensboro a 4-0 lead. Jared Triolo led off with a single and was quickly brought home on a triple by Blake Sabol.
Perez exited with an unknown injury in the ninth after giving up a solo home run to Jonah Davis.
Alex Destino ensured the Dash plated a run after hitting his 18th home run of the year-a solo bomb to right field to give the Dash their only offensive output of the day.
Quinn Priester (5-3) was the deciding factor in the 4-1 Greensboro victory. Garrett Leonard, the only relief pitcher utilized by the Grasshoppers, collected his first save. Jeremiah Burke (1-2) took the loss for the Dash.
With the win, Greensboro secures a series victory against Winston-Salem in the final series between the clubs this year. The Battle of I-40 continues Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET. Kaleb Roper will man the hill for the Dash. Greensboro is expected to activate and start Carmen Mlodzinski.
