Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

Everson Pereira lit up the night in Hudson Valley as his two home run performance powered the Hudson Valley Renegades to an 8-4 victory over the Jersey Shore BlueClaws on Thursday night at Dutchess Stadium.

Pereira, who hit in the leadoff spot, was five for five with two home runs and three singles, totaling 11 bases on the night. He drove in four.

The Renegades continued their early success as they scored a run in the bottom of the first off of a Jake Sanford RBI.

Jersey Shore would come back to tie the game in the top of the second.

By the time the game turned to the top of the 7th inning, the Renegades had built a hefty 6-1 lead thanks to the likes of Pereira and starting pitcher Matt Sauer, who tossed 6.1 innings, striking out seven and allowing only two runs. He would also earn the win (1-0).

The BlueClaws clawed back against right-hander Charlie Ruegger but closer Derek Craft came on finish off the night and record his fifth save.

The Renegades benefitted from two insurance runs in the bottom of the 8th inning when Luis Santos muscled an RBI single through the middle and Jake Sanford walked with the bases loaded.

The two teams will meet again at 7:05 tomorrow.

Per the State of New York, the Renegades are now open at 100% capacity. Tickets continue to be a tremendous value starting as low as $6. Visit HVRenegades.com for ticket information and so much more.
