Pride down Stingrays 2-1 in Overtime

FLORENCE, SC -- Kyle Kidney's goal with 23.0 seconds remaining in overtime lifted the Pee Dee Pride (15-6-2) to their third consecutive win, 2-1, over the South Carolina Stingrays (12-2-2) Friday night at the Florence Civic Center.

Kidney gathered in a loose puck in the slot, and wristed a shot past Kirk Daubenspeck for his eighth goal of the season.

After a scorless first period, the Pride's Mark Mullen gave the Pride the lead 2:17 into the second period. Gregg Johnson fed Mullen with a perfect cross-ice pass, and Mullen beat Daubenspeck for his 10th goal of the season.

South Carolina tied the game at 11:49 of the final period. Just eight seconds after the Stingrays went on a power play, former Pride player Matt Reid stuffed a shot past Nick Boucher for his 15th goal of the season. That goal ended Boucher's shutout streak at 199:09.
