The Kelowna Rockets will host the Regina Pats in front of a sold-out crowd on Tuesday night at Prospera Place, it's the Pats first visit to Kelowna since the 2018-19 season.

"They've got some good young players over there, coming in the building is going to be full and hopefully we can use that to our advantage," said Rockets head coach Kris Mallette. "Try and get on them early, that's a challenge for our defensive core and our goaltender to be on their game from the start."

"Connor Bedard is a human highlight reel, the stuff he does is generational and you're a guy that doesn't want to be on the Sports Centre Top 10, you know he's done a few of those to guys in our league. Our challenge is that he's one player on a team, we've gotta make sure we're paying attention to detail. At the end of the day, we want to make sure that we're the ones pushing the pace and making them come after us."

It's the first and only meeting between the two this season, the last time they met was on December 13, 2019 at the Brandt Centre where the Pats claimed a 4-3 win over the Rockets.

Kelowna was last in action on Saturday, falling 4-3 to the Moose Jaw Warriors. The Rockets scored the opening goal of the game, but the Warriors took a 3-1 lead heading into the third period where Kelowna was able to tie the game late in the frame. The Warriors scored the game-winner with 18 seconds left in regulation with a Rocket sitting in the penalty box. Will Munro, Andrew Cristall and Colton Dach were the goal scorers, Jari Kykkanen made 26 saves on 30 shots.

Regina is two games into their BC road trip, shutting out Vancouver 3-0 on Friday and then outgunning Victoria 9-5 on Saturday night.

Roster Updates

Players to watch

Kelowna

Rockets leading scorer Andrew Cristall extended his career-high point streak to eleven games on Saturday night, he's recorded 26 points (9G, 17A) over that span.

Rookie winger Will Munro recorded his first WHL goal on Saturday night.

Rockets captain Colton Dach is heating up, he has four points (2G, 2A) in his last two games.

Regina

We could write an entire chapter on why you should keep an eye on Pats captain Connor Bedard. The North Vancouver product is the first and only WHL player to ever be granted exceptional status, making him eligible to play in the WHL as a 15-year-old. The 2022 World Junior gold medalist and WHL's leading scorer is an 'A' rated prospect on the NHL Central Scouting preliminary players to watch list released last month.

Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Stanislav Svozil leads the Pats defencemen in scoring with 24 points (4G, 20A) in 21 games this season.

Tanner Howe recorded a six-point night against Victoria on Saturday, registering four goals and two assists.
