Preview: Americans Head to Portland Looking for Another Win against Winterhawks

The Americans and Winterhawks will meet tonight for the fifth time in their eight-game season series.

Tri-City is 2-1-1-0 against Portland so far this season with the home team winning each game in the series so far. Tomas Suchanek has played in net for both of Tri-City's victories against the Winterhawks. Tri-City's top player against Portland has been Jake Sloan with three goals and six assists.

The Americans downed the Winterhawks 6-1 last night at the Toyota Center, extending Tri-City's streak to 10-0-3-0 and five straight victories.

Jordan Gavin and Jake Sloan each lead the Ams with three points (1G, 2A). Marc Lajoie, Adam Mechura, and Ethan Ernst also scored for the Ams. Tomas Suchanek played the full game in net, turning aside 28 of 29 shots faced. The Czehia netminder has 12 straight wins.

Even matching up against Portland's second ranked penalty kill, the Ams continued their power play success as they capitalized on 4 of 6 opportunities.

The Ams will look to built on their five game winning streak tonight as they play the middle game of a three-in-three.
