PrairieThunder Dominates Third Period to Defeat Evansville 5-1

The Bloomington PrairieThunder out shot the Evansville IceMen 13 to 6 in the third period and saw four of their shots get past Evansville's goaltender Jeff Harvey as Bloomington broke a 1-1 tie to defeat the IceMen 5-1 on Saturday night in Indiana. With the win, the PThunder gets back into third place in the CHL's Turner (Northern) Conference with a record of 27-16-4. Evansville remains in ninth place with a record of 16-27-7. Bloomington is now 6-0-0 against the IceMen this season.

With the game tied at one after two periods, the PrairieThunder picked up third period lamp lighters from Garrett Klotz (his 6th), Brett Holmberg (16th), Aaron Dawson (his first), and Travis Granbois (9th). On the evening, Garrett Klotz had a goal and two assists and his goal turned out to be the game winner at 7:40 of the third period. Defenseman Aaron Dawson, returning to the line-up for the first time in over a month, had a goal and an assist. PrairieThunder goaltender Brad Phillips picked up his sixth win of the year stopping 20 of 21 Evansville shots.
