GLENS FALLS, NY. - The Colorado Eagles surrendered three power-play goals in the first-ever meeting against the Adirondack Thunder on Friday night, as the Thunder cruised to a 5-1 victory. Eagles forward Matt Garbowsky scored the Eagles lone goal in the loss, his seventh of the season.

The Eagles would find themselves in an early hole when forward Brian Ward beat Eagles goaltender Nathan Liewuen with a wrist shot on the power play to give the Thunder the 1-0 lead just 4:11 in to the first period.

Colorado would go to a hot hand to find an equalizer, as Garbowksy deflected a shot from the point past Thunder goalie Tom McCollum to knot the game at 1-1 at the 11:18 mark of the opening frame. The goal was Garbowsky's second in as many games and fourth goal in his last six contests.

The Thunder would continue their hot start on the power play when forward Peter MacArthur launched a shot from the top of the left circle that would light the lamp with just 3:08 remaining in the first period to make it 2-1 Adirondack.

After a scoreless second period, Colorado would find themselves on the penalty kill to start the third frame and Adirondack would capitalize. Forward Dennis Kravchenko would bury his first professional goal from the left circle with only 2:08 gone in the period to make it a 3-1 Thunder lead.

Less than six minutes later, the Thunder would net their first even-strength tally of the night when defenseman Mike Bergin blistered home a shot to extend the Adirondack lead to 4-1. That advantage would climb to 5-1, as forward James Henry took a cross-slot pass and flung it past Lieuwen with just 11:15 remaining in regulation.

Adirondack finished the night 3-for-8 on the power play, while Colorado was held o-for-3 on the man-advantage. The Thunder outshot the Eagles 39-22 in the contest.

The Eagles kick-off a two-game road trip against the Adirondack Thunder on Friday, December 1st at 5:00pm MT.
